For the first half of the school year Seniors will partake in a Problem-based learning curriculum that entailes helping solve problems within the community. This curriculum is designed to incorporate other subjects including technology, science, art, and math.
Students will be creating a website along with providing literature to the public to raise awareness about the problem of invasive species within the Lake George region.
For Unit 3, students will be reading the novel, Native Son by Richard Wright. There will be a short essay due at the end of this unit. Students are expected to bring any notes and to maintain a writing journal/log so students are prepared for discussion in the classroom.
Unit 4 and 5 are combined to work together. Students will be reading some of Ovid's Metemorphesis. Unit five students will provide their own Metamorphesis and how they have changed and developed into the person they are today. They can use which ever medium they would like to express their reflection.
